The weather in Cantabria: it's not going to rain!

El tiempo en cantabria: ¡ que no va a llover¡¡

Hello friends.

We are always with the same song: that it is going to rain, that it is always on the weekend... But Roberto Brasero has already said it that the wine doesn't change during the weather...

That's why this week we propose, among all the plans you can make, a route from the inn.

On Wikiloc: From the Posada Rio Cubas- Carriazo- Horna

This route is very easy to do. I did it with my 10 and 5 year old children and the truth is that they had no difficulty.

Leaving the inn in the direction of the San Pedro hermitage, which was built in 1846: it has a rectangular floor plan and is small. On the saint's holiday, the traveler can enjoy a beautiful party on the temple grounds. Paella, tenderloin pepitos and a very fun dance are the gifts that the traveler will find if he visits the town at this time, being received by its neighbors with great familiarity.

We continue our route towards the North among fields where cows, horses and some dwarf goats graze. Upon reaching the crossroads, after passing a beautiful Mexican-style farm, we can head towards Pontones (on the right), a town where a beautiful church of San Juan Bautista stands out. In future links I will tell you about the temple with Gothic elements from the 15th century, pointed arches from the 17th century or a pre-Churrigueresque main altarpiece from 1666, the work of Juan Toldano.

We will take this detour for 30 meters to begin the ascent towards "el tirado." From here we will have wonderful views of the bay of Santander as well as the beaches of Langre and Galizano. We will also pass by several estates of prominent bankers in the region.

We continue for 1.5 km until we reach a crossroads. There we will take the path that descends to the beautiful town of Carriazo. If you feel like it, you can visit the urban center with stone mansions in the purest Trasmeran style, and where the traditional game of Pasabolo-Slab stands out.

Whether you decide to visit the town or if you want to continue enjoying the route, we will return to the place where we stayed to begin the return to the inn. The walk back highlights a beautiful house, an old silo to store cattle grass in winter, now converted into a beautiful home.

After half a kilometer of walking through pastures and forest we will arrive again at the first intersection that we found at the beginning of the excursion. Now ahead we can return to our inn where we can rest in our beautiful garden.

We, with children, took 3.5 hours. The truth is that we take it easy, enjoying the landscape, nature, animals...

A nice afternoon to disconnect.
