The medieval town prepares for Holy Week 2014
Santillana del Mar is now prepared to live and feel the intense activity that takes place in the Historical Complex, by hosting the solemn events that take place within the framework of the Collegiate Church of Santa Juliana, on the occasion of Holy Week. The religious events will allow the public to admire the grandeur of the steps of the Via Crucis with carvings from the 16th, 17th and 18th centuries.
After the celebration of Palm Sunday, the services will continue on the day of Holy Thursday with the Celebration of the Lord's Supper at 5:00 p.m. and Holy Hour at 10:00 p.m..
But it will be, the day of Holy Friday the most anticipated and outstanding. One more year, the services of the Liturgy of the Passion of the Lord that will be celebrated at 5:00 p.m. will be followed later at 9:30 p.m. by the procession of the Via Crucis through the streets of the town.
